Heather's Story

Heather Long has a passion for Taylor and 25 years of experience in the management of complex construction projects and highly demanding contracts. That combination of love for our town and the skills she has acquired in her career are exactly what we need on the Taylor City Council. When Heather’s son died tragically of an undiagnosed disease, she learned the hard way that you have to stand and be willing to fight for what you care about. She went all the way to Congress in her fight for those suffering like Cal and she’ll bring that same spirit of advocacy for the citizens of District 4 to every policy made and every dollar spent by the City of Taylor.

A council member who will work as hard as the people she serves.

A natural team builder, Heather can get us beyond the petty politics of the past and focus the council on the fundamentals:

  • Quality Infrastructure. We are all aware of the issues with streets and the water system. Those will only increase as Taylor grows. We need people with experience, fresh energy, and a willingness to work together to find solutions.
  • Public Safety. The people of our city deserve to feel safe; that's the bedrock of our classic Texas town. We've got to keep our eye on that ball and ensure public safety.
  • Lower taxes and lower cost of living for the PEOPLE of Taylor. We can't have our seniors getting taxed or priced out of their own homes and the neighborhoods they've dedicated their lives to. Families with kids want the Taylor lifestyle and deserve lower taxes so they can afford the American Dream.
  • Development deals that actually serve the PEOPLE of Taylor. All eyes are on Taylor right now, and we need our council members looking out for us... no one else will.

The EXPERIENCE we need.
